Research Focus
Laboratory No. 1 of the Institute of Fine Organic Chemistry (IFOC) at NAS RA STCOPC conducts research aimed at the development of novel biologically active compounds that affect the cardiovascular and central nervous systems and exhibit antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Key Research Areas
The laboratory specializes in the design and synthesis of oxygen- and nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds, including:
- 1,4-Benzodioxane derivatives
- 4-Spiro-substituted tetrahydroisoquinoline derivatives
Additionally, the research extends to acyclic analogs and the synthesis of heterocyclic annulated systems, incorporating pharmacophore-containing substituted heterocycles such as:
- Thiophene
- Pyrrolidine
- Thiazole
- 1,3,4-Oxadiazole
- 1,3,4-Thiadiazole
- 1,2,4-Triazole
- Thienopyrimidine
Scientific Achievements
As a result of extensive research, the laboratory has synthesized several potential pharmaceutical compounds, including:
- Phobufol
- Difalkin
- Emacor
- Beditin
- Mecedin
