Laboratory of Organophosphorus Compounds
📌 Year of Establishment: 1970
📌 Founder: Academician M. H. Inchikyan, NAS RA
Research Directions
🔬 Study of Unsaturated Phosphorus Systems
Since its early years, the laboratory has conducted extensive research on the hydrolysis characteristics of α,β- and β,γ-unsaturated quaternary phosphonium salts in aqueous-basic media. These compounds can serve as precursors for the synthesis of diphenylphosphoryl derivatives with tailored structural properties.
⚛ Investigation of Organophosphorus Compound Interactions
The laboratory regularly conducts research on the interactions of tertiary phosphines, their oxides, and quaternary phosphonium salts, including:
- Analysis of nucleophilic and electrophilic addition reactions involving quaternary phosphonium salts and phosphine oxides.
- Synthesis of novel organophosphorus derivatives and structure-function relationship studies.
🛠 Applied Research
Due to their functional characteristics, organophosphorus compounds developed in the laboratory have potential applications in the following areas:
- Pharmaceuticals
- Insecticides and pesticides
- Plasticizers
- Stabilizers for polymeric materials
- Extractants for metal salts
