Main Research Directions

  • Synthesis of biodegradable polymers
  • Synthesis of elastic polyesters and polyamides of various types
  • Synthesis of azoles with bromine substituents in different positions and their polymers
  • Synthesis and testing of complex catalysts based on polyazoles–Me²⁺ salts

History of the Polymer Dispersions Laboratory

The laboratory was founded in 1982 and for many years was headed by Professor Arnos Arshak Hovhannisyan, Doctor of Chemical Sciences.
Initially, it was Laboratory No. 6 of OKI and was called the “Polymer Dispersions Laboratory.”
Under Professor Hovhannisyan’s supervision, 7 dissertations were defended.
Research activities focused on the kinetic regularities of emulsion polymerization, the mechanisms of macromolecule formation, and the chemistry of crystals. In 2025, the laboratory was reorganized and became the “Polymer Dispersions Group,” currently headed by Ph.D. Nagharsh Arthur Mirakyan.
