Current Research Directions

The laboratory continues to conduct theoretical and applied research of significant importance, focusing on the catalyzed intramolecular cyclization of unsaturated ammonium salts and the mechanisms of recyclization in condensed isoindolinium systems.

🔬 Study of Intramolecular Cyclization Catalyzed by Unsaturated Ammonium Salts:

  • Investigation of the recyclization mechanisms of 4-hydroxymethylisoindolinium and condensed isoindolinium salts in aqueous-basic media.
  • Analysis of substituent effects both near the nitrogen atom and within the aromatic core to determine their influence on reaction pathways.

Studies Based on the Stevens Rearrangement, including:

  • Investigation of deamination mechanisms during vacuum distillation of amines.
  • Synthesis of terphenyl and its new derivatives based on 1,3- or 1,5-proton shifts in cyclic allene-containing dienynes.

🛠 Technological Developments:

  • Development of a new methodology for the synthesis of p-terphenyl and its derivatives, ensuring accessibility and efficiency for industrial and pharmaceutical applications.

These studies contribute to the advancement of fundamental organic chemistry and the discovery of novel synthetic mechanisms for their potential application in various fields.
